New Wine Ireland is a movement of The Word and The Spirit, which longs to see God’s Holy Spirit move among us in power, to bring transformation and revival to help local churches change our nation.
This demands that the people of God live holy, distinctive lives which is not an easy calling. Contemporary culture poses major challenges for discipleship. For this reason, we call our leadership team, board of trustees, staff and volunteer team, when at the summer conference and in their daily discipleship to:
A lifestyle of careful moderation of alcohol, and abstinence from narcotic substances as a healthy lifestyle alternative.
Make godly choices in entertainment, television viewing and internet use, rather than those which offend our holy God and have a negative impact on our Christian growth, our families, communities and mission. We encourage careful consideration of the venues we visit for entertainment and avoidance of places that would conflict with the ethos of New Wine or have a negative impact on those we seek to disciple.
Commitment to a Biblical view on sexuality, namely that sexual intimacy is only to be expressed within Christian marriage between a man and a woman.
Have a godly, teachable spirit, outdoing one another in showing honour, and prioritising our witness above all else.
While we are called to be 'holy as He is holy', we are conscious that we all fall short, and we thank God that He not only forgives our past mistakes, but also restores us. Our deep desire is that nothing in our lifestyle choices would grieve the Holy Spirit or hinder His work. We therefore commit ourselves to honouring Him in every aspect of our lives as we pray for the Kingdom of God to come on this island.
